FDA warns public about risks of online pharmacies

The Food and Drug Administration is warning U.S. consumers that the vast majority of Internet pharmacies are fraudulent and likely are selling counterfeit drugs that could harm them. I want the American public to pay attention to this story. This is a continuing problem that is going to get worse before it gets better.

Online enterprises are getting smarter at confusing consumers. When it comes to medications, patients have to know that they are getting their prescriptions from reliable sources. They have to be able to communicate with pharmacists regarding questions about their meds; in other words, they have to be well-informed.

Sometimes, Internet scams can actually end up harming people. They are many legitimate pharmacies online, but consumers need to be aware that bargains in prescription prices can lure them into a situation that puts their health at risk.
