University system not prepared for Autism

A recent report on autism in the American education system tells an incredibly touching story that gets to the heart of a serious problem that this country is facing. With one out of 88 children being diagnosed on the autism spectrum in this country, the education system has to do some major catch up. We’re struggling in our grammar schools with finding the right placement for these children, but at the college level, the system is just not prepared. Sure, there are some schools that have seen the writing on the wall and are trying to do something about it, but if more schools don’t prepare, thousands of young adults will be left with inadequate education, and this is a crime.
