Because you take blood-pressure medication, this estimate is higher than it would be for someone with the same reading and no treatment. That is not because the medication is harmful. The model treats being on treatment as a sign of longer-standing blood-pressure problems. Do not change your medication based on this tool.
Based on the Framingham general cardiovascular risk model (D'Agostino and colleagues, Circulation, 2008), using body mass index in place of a cholesterol test. It estimates risk of a first cardiovascular event over ten years, so it does not apply if you have already had a heart attack or stroke. It is an estimate for a group of people like you, not a prediction about you.
