Weight-Loss Surgery and Alcohol a Big Problem

A new study from the New York Obesity Nutrition Reseach Center at St Luke’s – Roosevelt Hospital Center reports that some patients may turn to drinking after weight-reduction surgery. They reported that drinking rates increased after three months post surgery, but some patients had signinficant drinking habits two years out. The reason is not yet clearly understood, but changes in tolerance coulb be a contributing factor.

Botton line: Talk to your doctor about this finding , if you’re considering surgery for weight loss.
