Facts of Life Actress Mindy Cohn Reveals Cancer Return
Mindy Cohn has revealed that she is battling cancer again, and the update came straight from her on April 19. The actress shared the news in an Instagram post from a hospital bed, letting fans know she had stepped away from social media while going through treatment.
She did not say what type of cancer she is facing this time.
According to People, Cohn thanked the staff at Providence Saint John’s Hospital for helping her through it, and said she is now recovering for a couple more weeks before moving on to what she called her “next adventure.”
Mindy Cohn is best known as Natalie Green from The Facts of Life. Entertainment Weekly notes that she is still best known for that role, even after years of other work. Cohn’s more recent work includes Palm Royale, and as the voice of Velma in several Scooby-Doo projects.
Still, The Facts of Life remains the role most people will connect with her first, especially among an older crowd that grew up with network TV as part of daily life.
Cohn’s past cancer
Back in 2012, Cohn was diagnosed with breast cancer, though she did not publicly open up about that battle until 2017. It was later reported that she eventually went through a double mastectomy, chemotherapy, and radiation, and later said she had reached remission.
The previous fight lasted five years.
Fox News reported that Cohn is currently out of the hospital.
There was a wave of support waiting for her online. People found that stars including Helen Hunt, Sarah Paulson, Jerry O’Connell, Octavia Spencer, and Chelsea Handler responded with love after her post went public.
