Parents choosing girls over boys in sex selection procedures

 

A new investigative report finds that, in contrast to countries like China and India which have known to have been known to selectively screen for male fetuses, parents in the U.S. are spending thousands of dollars on reproductive procedures to ensure they become pregnant with a girl.

I am totally against sex selection of any kind, and I am totally against any doctor or health care facility that encourages this practice.  I realize that sometimes sex selection needs to be considered as an option for parents when you’re dealing with certain genetic diseases, but it seems that many people are undergoing these procedures for more general reasons, which I think is wrong.
