I am personally affected by a family member with Bi-Polar Disorder.  This family member is in denial and refuses to accept or admit that there is a problem, therefore refuses to take any form of medication.

Can anyone provide any input?  I would certainly appreciate information from those of you who may be currently experiencing this situation or have experienced it in the past with successful results.

Thank you.

Feline:

My son is bi-polar, and we’ve only known it since his discharge from the army. He visits his PCP and psychiatrist every 3 months for this, and other problems he developed while in Iraq. It seems to be under control now, for the most part, but I don’t know what medications he takes for it.

I’m giving you his e-mail address, , with his permission....perhaps he can help you .

Respectfully,

deputyd2 - I’d suggest you remove your son’s email address from your post and sent it as a private message, that way his email address is not in public view here ...
