The War on Trans Fats Continues

First New York, then New Jersey, now Disney. Truth is, Denmark has been way ahead of the United States in the trans fat battle. There will still be greasy, fattening food for those seeking it. There will always be french fries, cheeseburgers, bacon, and yes, sometimes all of the above in one meal. But it looks like the preemptive strike on future waistlines, has yielded another minor victory. The colonel is removing trans fats from the KFC diet.

In Canada.

But it's a start. First Canada, then who knows? Uruguay? Portugal? Sierra Leone? The trans fats will be rooted out. There will be no cut and run on the war aginst trans fats. There will be no caves for trans fats to hide in.

This may be speculation, and perhaps even obvious, but I'm sure more Americans die each year due to diseases related to dietary intake than due to terrorism, so maybe we've found the true enemy. It may not be the Cold War. Or even the Cola Wars. But you can save more human lives with dietary changes than you can with a battalion of bombers.
