The Ashland Daily Tidings must have dropped in and seen my request for some different greens to replace the scary spinach. Collared greens, Swiss chard, arugala, watercress, kale, and a few others are all mentioned in the article.
Watercress and kale, in particular, along with brussel sprouts and other cruciferous vegetables, may help prevent breast cancer. Indole-3-carbinol (I3C), which naturally occurs in these vegetables, when combined chemotherapy drugs killed tumour cells in studies conducted by the University of Leicester.
