The Better Bacteria

E. Coli is bad. We know this much. But there are other forms of bacteria. And some of these are indeed good. Good for human consumption even. These are often referred to as probiotics.

Do you eat yogurt? Well, look at the label and you'll see there's quite a few active cultures there. These things help the digestive process. If there's no probiotics in your yogurt, then there's no reason why you couldn't switch to another brand.

Acidophilus was not the Greek god microorganisms. Acidophilus (L. acidophilus), is one form of probiotic that can be taken to counteract the effects of bad bacteria and aid in the digestive process as well.

Probiotics may be taken after a course of antibiotics to replenish good bacteria in your system. And the reported benefits include improved immunity, lower cholesterol, reduced inflammation.

Probiotics good. E. coli bad.

Got it? Good.
