POM Wonderful Not so Wonderful?

I touched on the benefits of pomegranate previously, although I'm not sure I'll be touching any pomegranates this week. Or at least consuming any in liquid form. Wild Oats pulled POM Wonderful juice from its shelves after an animal activist group, Animal Rights Militia claimed to have tampered with the product on various stores along the East Coast. And not just Wild Oats, other stores such as D'agostino's and Food Emporium were also singled out in their communiqué at the North American Animal Liberation Press Office web site.

I'm not sure losing weight is a benefit of pomegranate, but that may be a side effect of the unpleasant vomiting and diarrhea in store for those consuming the tainted beverage. I would recommend you try some other type of diet.

Animal Rights Militia based their action on animal cruelty during testing funded by POM into the benefits of pomegranate juice, much of which is outlined on the PETA hosted site, www.pomhorrible.com.

Since my last pomegranate post, I've actually attempted to eat pomegranate in its more solid form, which is akin to eating some very tasty rubies. Although the arils are not as solid or dense as rubies, so things may get messy rather quickly, as these YouTubers found out. Yes, you "killed" it. The guy in this video seemed to have better luck, but it sounds as if he had more difficulty convincing the camerawoman not to shut down production.

Here are two links I included previously on the peeling of pomegranates. I may even take their advice myself next time. I suggest you wear old clothes.
