This pair of news items might have more folks ponying up to the bar…

If someone else besides me reads this blog, they might recall findings that red wine may reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s Disease. New research from Stony Brook University suggests red wine reduces the risk of colorectal cancer as well.

Although the type of alcohol is not mentioned, apparently a daily drink or two may be good for the ticker, too, at least for men.

Is consumption of alcohol a new form of alternative health? Probably not. There is the whole ugly side of alcohol addiction, and the damage excessive amounts can do to the brain, kidneys, and liver.
