Cancer Prevention Roundup

Today I'd like to submit for your approval, links to a trio of recent articles speaking of various form of cancer prevention. Cancer is always topical in all its nasty flavors and forms, so within out further ado, let's get to those links.

Cloudy apple juice is clearly better for health. Four times better, according to scientists, than the clear apple juice we usually feed our children. this cloudy form of apple juice is unusually referred to  as apple cider, and the "four times better" refers to four times the amount of polyphenols in the cloudy stuff. Is the cloudy stuff sold in juiceboxes? That's the next question to ask, isn't it?

Men should eat their reds and greens. Why? To avoid prostate cancer naturally...umm...naturally. Lycopene is the cancer fighting component in the tomatoes, while its the sulphurous compounds in broccoli that provide the health benefit from our cruciferous vegetable friend.

Good health in a lemon! This article discusses other citrus fruits as well, but really the focus is pectin, a complex carbohydrate believed to be beneficial in fighting prostate and other cancers. Pectin has also proven to lower cholesterol and reduce blood sugar. Looks like another reason to use lemon in your tea as opposed to milk.
