This is a very exciting story because it illustrates for us the great strides we are making in the field of fetal surgery. Of course, there are still many challenges, and clearly one of them is the risk for premature delivery of these babies after surgery. But with the explosion of minimally invasive surgical techniques across the board in the world of medicine, the tools that surgeons are using are improving outcomes and making these intricate procedures safer.
